Our promise to parents.

01Nothing happens before it's explained.
Children meet the room, the chair and the instruments first — in words they understand, at their own pace.
02Comfort decides the pace.
If a child needs a pause, they get a pause. A short, calm visit beats a rushed one every time.
03Prevention over repair.
Fluoride, sealants and honest brushing advice now, so there is far less to treat later.
04Parents stay in the loop.
You will always know what we saw, what we would do and why — before anything is booked.

The first visit

How a first appointment actually goes.

Mostly it is about familiarity. A child who has had one easy visit finds every visit afterwards easier.

  1. 1

    Before the visit

Keep it light at home. Say we're going to count teeth — avoid words like pain, needle or drill, even while reassuring.

  2. 2

    Settling in

Your child sees the room, the chair and the little mirror. Nothing goes near their mouth until they are ready.

  3. 3

    The check

A gentle look at teeth, gums and bite, plus how the jaw is growing and whether new teeth are coming through well.

  4. 4

    Talking to you

What we found, what to watch for, and simple brushing and diet steps for home — in plain language.

  5. 5

    Next time

We agree when to come back. Familiar, regular visits are what keep children relaxed in the chair.

Everything we do for children, explained in one place. For anything specific to your child, call the clinic and our team will talk it through with you.

First Dental Visit

A calm, unhurried introduction to the dentist.

A first visit is mostly about familiarity. Your child meets the room, the chair and the dentist, and nothing happens before it has been explained in words they understand.

  • A look around the room before anything begins
  • A gentle check of teeth, gums and bite
  • Time for your child's questions — and yours
  • Simple brushing and diet guidance for home

Kids Dental Checkups

Regular gentle checks that catch problems early.

Routine checkups let small problems be found while they are still small. They also keep children comfortable with the idea of visiting the dentist.

  • Check for early decay and enamel wear
  • Review of how teeth are erupting and spacing out
  • Cleaning where it is needed
  • A plan for when to come back

Kids Cavity Treatment

Comfort-first care for little teeth.

When a cavity is found, treatment is kept as gentle and short as possible. We explain each step first and stop whenever a child needs a pause.

  • Tooth-coloured fillings for small to moderate cavities
  • Treatment planned around your child's comfort
  • Advice on preventing the next cavity
  • Care for baby teeth as well as permanent teeth

Fluoride & Sealants

Simple preventive protection for growing teeth.

Fluoride strengthens enamel against decay, and sealants cover the deep grooves of back teeth where a toothbrush struggles to reach. Both are quick, painless and preventive.

  • Fluoride application during a routine visit
  • Sealants for newly erupted molars
  • No drilling and no injections
  • Reviewed at each checkup

Kids' Braces & Alignment

Guidance on bite and alignment as your child grows.

Crowding, gaps and bite problems are easier to guide while the jaw is still growing. An early assessment tells you whether to treat now or simply monitor.

  • Assessment of bite, crowding and jaw growth
  • Advice on the right time to begin treatment
  • Braces and aligner options explained clearly
  • Habit guidance such as thumb sucking or mouth breathing

Dental Emergencies for Children

What to do when a child has dental pain or injury.

Knocked-out teeth, chipped edges, swelling and sudden pain all need prompt attention. Call the clinic during opening hours and we will guide you on what to do next.

  • Keep a knocked-out permanent tooth moist — milk works well
  • Rinse gently with water; avoid aspirin on the gum
  • Use a cold compress for swelling or a knock
  • Call the clinic as soon as you can

At home

Most of the work happens between visits.

A checkup finds problems; daily habits prevent them. These are the things that make the biggest difference for children's teeth.

  • Brush twice a day with an age-appropriate fluoride toothpaste — a smear for under-3s, a pea for older children.
  • Supervise brushing until around age seven or eight; small hands miss the back teeth and the gum line.
  • Limit how often sugary food and drink appear. Frequency matters more than quantity.
  • Water or plain milk between meals — sipping juice all day gives teeth no recovery time.
  • Never put a baby to bed with a bottle of anything sweet, including milk.
  • Treat bleeding gums, dark spots or sensitivity as a reason to book, not to wait.

Dental emergency

Knocked-out tooth, swelling or sudden pain?

Call the clinic during opening hours. Keep a knocked-out permanent tooth moist in milk and hold it by the crown, use a cold compress for a knock, and rinse gently with water.

Questions parents ask us.

A few of the ones we hear most often about children. General questions about the clinic are answered further down the page.

My child is frightened of the dentist. What helps?

Book a short familiarisation visit with nothing planned but a look around. Keep your own language neutral at home, come earlier in the day when they are rested, and let them bring a favourite toy. Children take their cue from the adult with them.

Do baby teeth really need treating?

Yes. Baby teeth guide the adult teeth into position and are needed for chewing and speech. Decay in them can cause genuine pain and infection, and can affect the tooth developing underneath.

Are fluoride and sealants safe?

Both are long-established preventive measures. Fluoride varnish is painted on in seconds; sealants flow into the deep grooves of back teeth and set. Neither involves drilling or injections. Whether they are advised depends on your child's decay risk.

When should I ask about braces?

An assessment around ages seven to nine is useful, because crowding and bite problems are easier to guide while the jaw is still growing. That assessment often ends in monitoring rather than treatment.
