Pediatric Dentistry at the clinic
The first appointments for a young child are short and largely about getting comfortable: seeing the room, meeting the dentist, having a quick look at the teeth. When nothing painful or surprising happens early on, later visits are far easier — for the child and for the parent.
Baby teeth guide the adult teeth into position and are needed for chewing and speech. Decay in them can cause real pain and infection, and can affect the tooth developing underneath. Treating them is not optional care just because they will eventually be lost.
Brushing twice a day with an age-appropriate fluoride toothpaste, adult supervision until around age seven or eight, and limiting how often sugary food and drink appear during the day do most of the work. Frequency matters more than quantity — constant sipping and snacking gives teeth no recovery time.
